Midlands Orthopaedic Surgery Center

Research Director

Midlands Orthopaedics Surgery Center, LLC seeks a FT Research Director to oversee clinical outcomes research, data collection and reporting for Total Joint Replacement procedures. The position includes overseeing, organizing and analyzing clinical information; preparing papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals; and presenting those publications at national conferences. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing new clinical research protocols. Duties include supervision of 1 staff member dedicated to data collection and may require direct communication with post-operative patients. Position will be supervised by Dr. Tom Gross, an orthopaedic surgeon at Midlands Orthopaedics in Columbia, SC who is actively involved in orthopaedic implant development and the collection of surgical outcomes data.


Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD is required. Prior experience writing clinical medical publications, specifically in orthopaedics, is preferred. Candidate must be highly motivated, analytical and able to work independently. Exceptional computer skills to include database maintenance as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Access preferred.
